Frequently Asked Questions

What technologies and frameworks are allowed?

You can use any programming language, framework, or AI model for your project. This includes TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face transformers, custom models, and any other AI tools. We encourage creative and innovative implementations.

What are the judging criteria for experienced participants?

Projects from experienced developers will be judged on: technical complexity and innovation (40%), real-world applicability (25%), code quality and architecture (20%), and presentation quality (15%). The judges will be looking for sophisticated implementations that push the boundaries of AI.

Can I use pre-existing code or models?

You may use open-source libraries, models, and frameworks. However, the core innovation and implementation must be developed during the hackathon. All pre-existing code must be clearly documented and credited in your submission.

What compute resources will be available?

Through our sponsors, we'll provide cloud computing credits for participants to access GPU and TPU resources. Details on the exact allocations and how to access these resources will be provided closer to the event date.

What is AI and how does it work?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems designed to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. For beginners, you don't need to understand all the complex math—you'll learn to use AI tools and platforms that make implementation accessible. We'll provide resources to help you understand the fundamentals.

Do I need programming experience to participate?

No prior programming experience is required! We'll provide beginner-friendly workshops and resources. You'll be able to use no-code or low-code platforms to build your AI project. Each beginner team will also be assigned a mentor to provide guidance throughout the hackathon.

What kind of projects can beginners create?

Beginners can create a wide range of projects such as: a simple chatbot using existing AI platforms, an image recognition app that identifies objects, a text analysis tool that summarizes content, or a recommendation system. We'll provide templates and examples to help you get started.

How will I get help if I'm stuck?

We've designed a comprehensive support system for beginners! This includes dedicated mentors, beginner-specific workshops throughout the event, a help desk with experienced volunteers, and active community forums where you can ask questions. No one gets left behind in this hackathon.
